Codex Launcher is an independent Mac utility published by Picktek. It does not operate a cloud account, analytics service, advertising system or profile-sync server.

Local profile information

Launcher stores profile names, folder paths, process identities, migration receipts and available account metadata in your selected library. It reads account information through the installed Codex app-server interface. Launcher does not decode authentication tokens to discover your identity.

Migration and credentials

When you choose Bring my Codex, Launcher copies selected saved data into a new profile while retaining originals. Saved file-based credentials may be copied as opaque files with restricted filesystem permissions. They are not sent to Picktek. OS Keychain items and desktop browser cookies are not exported. Copies, verification receipts and inactive schedule archives remain on your Mac.

Permissions

The App Store edition asks for access to your chosen library, selected migration source, any required external Git metadata and its own Application Scripts directory. A local permission bookmark retains library access. A bundled helper in the approved scripts directory opens, focuses and normally closes Codex profiles. These permissions do not grant Picktek remote access to your files.

Network requests and OpenAI

Launcher fetches OpenAI’s public Codex release feed. As with ordinary HTTPS requests, OpenAI and its delivery infrastructure receive connection information such as your IP address. The local edition can download the official Codex app; the App Store edition opens OpenAI’s site instead. Codex accounts, conversations, authentication, telemetry and services are handled by the separately installed OpenAI app under OpenAI’s privacy policy. Launcher’s local account-check process uses that installed software.

This website and support

This static website uses no analytics scripts, advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Cloudflare hosts it and processes ordinary request information to deliver and secure the site. If you email luka@picktek.com, Picktek receives the information you send and uses it to respond. Do not include credentials or private profile archives.

Control and retention

Your profile library stays where you chose it. Removing Launcher does not remove your library or its originals. You can manage those files in Finder after closing the corresponding Codex profiles. To ask about support correspondence or this policy, contact luka@picktek.com.
